Search and Rescue Training
June 3, 2015July CERT, SAR, OEM Meeting
July 1, 2015Team,
We’ve been working on the July training schedule.
First of all our July OEM, CERT, SAR meeting will be at our office in Middlebourne, Thursday July 2nd, starting at 7 pm. Refreshments will be provided.
The July LEPC meeting will be the same day, same building, in the banquet room down stairs, starting at 9am. Congressman McKinley has ask to have a community round table meeting directly after the LEPC business meeting. Breakfast will be provided.
We will have a three and a half day “canine water cadaver training” starting July 20th in Sistersville. The instructor will be well known Lisa Higgins from Louisiana. We can have up to 10 canines and handlers. We will be asking for as much support as we can get from our SAR team. We will need help working with the boats, providing communications and weather monitoring. We will also need divers. There will be a lot of support work, just as if it were an actual search. Feel free to join in any days you can. Food and lodging will be provided.
July 25th we will be conducting a Project Lifesaver class at our office in Middlebourne. This will be the classroom part of the training. The outdoor field test will be scheduled by the instructor and the participants. We have room for 8 more students. This is the certifying class not a refresher. Lunch will be provided.
We are working on an outreach training with our friends in Nicholas County to provide instructors for a ten hour introduction to search and rescue class. The plan is to have 30 to 40 Jr. ROTC students in the class. This will take place July 17th and 18th. Food will be provided.
Everyone getting this message is welcome to attend all events. Please let me know if you are available to participate! Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Tom
