Saturday’s SAR Training

Folks, we’re working on this Saturday’s search and rescue training. We plan to train at the marina in New Martinsville.

I’m still working on getting instructors for the following classes,
Side scan sonar on the rescue boat
Using the SKED rescue system
GPS
Land Navigation
Don will be there to help with any radio questions and David will be there to help with the GPS receivers.

We’ll start setting up around 1pm and begin training at 2pm. We’ll eat around 5:30. After this we’ll start the search exercise and work into the evening.
We’re hoping to make this a fun learning event. Herb and Bill from Homeland Security sent us several items for prizes. We’ll also have some good food! If you would like to bring a dessert, please let me know.
