November SAR Training

We are getting things ready for our November field training. We plan to meet at 10:00am Saturday, November 4th at the Momentive Employee Park. (Call or email for directions)

Since only a few people were able to attend the October training we are going to go through the same topics. Dr. Sarah Frances McClure will be giving a presentation entitled: Drowning Management and Prevention. (For an interesting introduction to Dr McClure go to tylerwv.com , click on Updates! and choose Oct SAR Training.) Then she will go over the use of our Sked Rescue System. After this we will have the requested training on using the GPS in the field. Then we will go over field communications. This will lead us into a field exercise that will include sending teams into the field to find hidden clues using GPS coordinates. We will use this exercise as an opportunity to properly use the GPS and radios both at base and in the field. You will receive hands-on instructions and cheat sheets for each activity. This should be a very interesting and beneficial day for everyone involved. PLEASE TRY TO ATTEND!!
