November 16, 2015SAR Team,
For several good reasons, NASAR now requires all certified Tech I, II, III to recertify every three years. If your certificate is dated prior to January 1, 2013, your certification runs out on January 1, 2016. If your certificate has a date after January 1, 2016, it runs out three years from the date on the certificate. NASAR is being very liberal with the training requirements, any SAR related training, exercises and actual searches count toward these hours. Currently, documentation is not being required. I believe most of you have easily met these requirements. To get your recertification, go to www.nasar.org and go to the bookstore. Shop by 100 top merchandise and select the recertification that you are applying for and pay the fee. Unless you kept up your membership, you are a nonmember.
The requirements for recertifying are as follows:
ISAR /
SARTECH III: 12 hours of either continuing education (CE) or filed time in the last three years.
Fee: $30 for a NASAR Member or $65 for a nonmember
SARTECH II: At least 30 hours total time of CE and field time in the last 3 years with at least 15 hours of CE time. Any hours you provided instruction counts as double.
Fee: $30 for a NASAR Member or $75 for a nonmember
SARTECH I: At least 60 hours total time of CE and field time in the last 3 years with at least 30 hours of CE time. Any hours you provided instruction counts as double.
Fee: Free for a NASAR Member or $75 for a nonmember
You do not need to send in any documentation at this point. If NASAR wants it, they will request it and I will help you with it.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Tom
