Project Lifesaver Training
April 12, 2015Team Meeting
May 1, 2015Team,
Many of you have indicated that you would be interested in training to operate in our field operations center. We have a new training opportunity coming up this Thursday, April 30th at 6pm at the Middlebourne Senior Center.
The WV National Guard is coming in to teach our folks how to to setup and operate our new computer-based Area RAE air monitoring system. The Guard uses this same equipment in disasters as well as covert events. It is a very high tech set of tools (cost $44,500) used to measure air quality around a large area such as a well fire or hazmat event. Although it is very complex, it is not difficult to set up and operate with proper training. We are expecting to have several area emergency managers and fire chiefs at the training. We hope to have as many volunteers attend as possible. This is equipment we could get called out to set up and operate anywhere in the state. No special expertise is needed to take this training.
Your help is always appreciated.
